Keeeep Crafting!

Another week of madness in this crazy world that we now live in at the moment, but we won't dwell on that. I'm very late in writing this after my FB Live on Tuesday evening, so I apologise. I've been busy making a card for a lady who will be celebrating her 100th birthday at the end of March, so that's very special. I've also been flitting between spring cleaning, sorting cupboards out, gardening and some crafting! I have to admit that I'm having a hard time focusing on just one task. I'm also in constant contact with all my loved ones and checking that they're okay, so the week had indeed been a weird one to say the least.

Anyway, back to my FB Live and I did two very different projects. The first one was a simple card using the masking technique. It was a card that we were meant to be making in our card class, which obviously had to be cancelled because of the social distancing in place. I thought that I would demonstrate how to make it instead. I used the lovely set called 'Beautiful Moments' from Stampin' Up and just masked the stamped images of the girls, before then sponging with a brayer to create the beach and the sea. I finished the scene off with some extra stamping with stamps from the set called 'High Tide' also from Stampin'Up! I added some highlights to the sea and shore line using a white gel pen. I coloured the children in with some Stampin' Blends.

The next set of cards were very different! Firstly, I demonstrated how to create some beautiful backgrounds using the beautiful 'Flowering Foils' Speciality Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! These can be earned for free with a qualifying spend in the Sale-A-Bration period, which ends very soon on March 31st.

As I said, I showed various ways to colour in the back grounds which really are best to be seen in action on my FB Live.
After I coloured some of them by using a water colour technique, they very much reminded me of oriental kimonos or other Asian decorative articles. This gave me the idea to use another stamp set that can be earned for free during Sale-A-Bration, The Power of Hope stamp set. It was the first time that I had stamped with it, so I was pleased that I could put it to use finally! I have to say that I was very pleased with how the cards turned out. I just love the bright colours and the important message behind them. A very important one in these very challenging times that we have ahead of us.

Here's my FB Live:

Anyway, I hope you love them as much as I do. They were great fun to make too!
