Fly Away Home

Last night we were flying high! No, not on an aeroplane but we were creating a cute Valentine's card with lots of love hearts and some really cute ladybirds, or as they say in America, ladybugs.
On my Facebook Live, I made a card using the stamp set called 'Little Ladybug' from Stampin' Up! and another set called 'Forever Lovely' because I needed some love hearts as a background. I demonstrated how to use the masking technique because I wanted the flower to appear as though it was in front of the love hearts.
It's an easy technique but very effective.

The card layers were simple. I created a base card from Thick whisper white card stock and then added a daffodil delight layer and then a poppy parade and whisper white layer.

Daffodil Delight 143mm x 100mm
Poppy Parade     120mm x 80mm
Whisper White   117mm x 77mm.

The flower and the ladybirds were coloured in with Stampin Blends. The love hearts in the back ground were stamped in Poppy Parade Ink which had been stamped off once (stamp on scrap first before applying to card stock). The Daffodil Delight card layer was coloured in by using a decorative mask and Crushed Curry ink, all from Stampin' Up! The images were all stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, also from Stampin' Up! The card was finished off with a sentiment and was punched with a circle punch and a scrap of Poppy Parade card stock was punched with a scallop punch. The two love hearts were cut from a piece of Speciality Designer Series Paper called 'From My Heart' also from Stampin' Up!

Unfortunately, I completely forgot to show people what else I had made using both the gorgeous paper and stamp set. For the last few weeks, my friend Wanda and I have been attending a running course, in a bid to get us fitter and used to running again. The course is run by a group of ladies, and the group is purely for women only. They happen to be called 'Lynnsport Ladybirds', and we are nearly at the end of our course and hope to be a full fledged member very soon. I thought that it would be an ideal opportunity to share some treat packets using the gorgeous Speciality Designer Series Paper and the 'Little Ladybug' stamp set. I will be handing them out on Valentine's week also, so it will be perfect timing!
I even found some ladybird foil covered chocolates, how lucky was that?
