Sharing the Love

Good morning, yesterday was a brilliant and surprising day! It was a scheduled team meeting day with our wider team, with our wonderful team leader Mikaela Titheridge. She had arranged for us to do a team swap for all those who wanted to participate. I had recently designed and made a Valentine's card for an upcoming event and I had shared it on the team page for one of the challenges that are set, and it seemed to be well liked, so I thought that I would choose that as my team swap. I only had to make seven of them, but it did take me longer than anticipated as there was a lot of die cutting. I hope they were well liked.

I used Night of Navy card stock for the base and the Lovely Lipstick and Smoky Slate as contrasting colours. I used the 'Parisian Beauty' set and the matching dies from Stampin' Up! and the 'Free as a Bird' set for the flowers, which I just fussy cut out.
The script stamp was embossed with silver and I then used the 'splatter' technique to spray 'Frost White' shimmer paint over the writing before applying the die cut tower. I also used the stitched love heart from the 'Stitched Be Mine' dies from the Main Stampin' Up! catalogue. I finished off with the beautiful, sparkly faceted gems that are in the Mini Catalogue. They can be found in the 'From my Heart' suite. I used Stampin' Blends to colour the flowers in.

For the Valentine Special event I have made both a female and a male version so that either sex can attend and make a special something for their loved ones. I have to admit that I didn't design the male card because I saw one on Pinterest that I really liked so I went with that and just changed it slightly. The ladies will receive a gift bag with love heart chocolates in them and the men will receive a decorated foil tin with love hearts in. The foil tins from Stampin' Up! are brilliant because you can actually cook cupcakes in them and then decorate them and place the lid on top to protect and gift it. How fabulous is that?!  The gift bag is actually created with a die from the 'Best Dressed' Suite from Stampin' Up! that is in the current Mini Catalogue 2020. Here's my samples to show you.

Anyway, love is definitely in the air with all the romance of Paris around us. Just in time for Valentine's which will be here before we know it. Now I know us Brits don't traditionally go overboard at this time of the year, but maybe this year could be the year that you actually do push the boat out and show your loved ones how much you appreciate them and love them. Yes I know it's all very commercialised and I'm sure that there are plenty of other times that you do this. I honestly believe that actually making a special gift or card means much more than just buying something from the shop though. Flowers definitely are always are appreciated too, well they certainly are in my book!

Lastly, I couldn't miss the opportunity to share with you all as to why the team training day was so surprising! A few weeks ago, I actually achieved a promotion to 'Silver' level. This is achieved by a combined effort of receiving a certain level of sales and gaining a recruit. Although I was very pleased to reach it, it had slipped my mind that I would actually be rewarded for it! Not only do I receive rewards from the company Stampin' Up! but my upline Alison and her upline Mikaela had both bought me Pandora charms, and Alison gave me a gift voucher for Stampin' Up goodies too! Plus, they both made me beautiful cards. I felt very spoilt.

During the team meeting we made some gorgeous make and takes that were provided by various team members and we swapped our cards with others who were swapping. Here's what I came away with, all very beautiful makes. A huge thank you to everyone.
