Special Calender Class

....and breathe!  Today is going to be a tranquil day for me. After a very hectic week of finishing off class gifts, cards, class kits etc. Plus the Christmas socialising has begun already, I am in need of some down time today.

This past week was the last of our card class sessions for the year and I only have one more special event on the calender until the new year. This means that I can finally get to have a good play with all of my brand new goodies from the upcoming Mini catalogue that will be launched on January 3rd.
Anyway,  I thought that I would treat my regular class attendees to a special make for the last class of the year, so instead of the usual cards and gift boxes that we do, I designed and made a calender for them to use in 2020. I was very pleased with how it turned out and I think my ladies liked it too! Some of them left the class with not quite finishing them, but I like sending them home with a little homework!! The frames that we used can be purchased from Ikea at the budget price of 75 pence in the UK. It's called the Tolsby Frame. The hinged rings can be bought form many online stores, as can the calender tabs.

I had great fun designing and making the calender and I'm looking forward to making some more today, as they are great to give as a gift, especially for those people who you never know what to buy them. I did have to use quite a few stamp sets from the Stampin' Up! range to create the calender, but I think that's why I enjoyed it so much, because I got to use sets that I hadn't used for a while. It has renewed my love for some of them. I kept the die cutting to a minimum because of the time restraints of a class and to reduce the bulk of the calender. I don't think it detracts from the overall design though. Have fun if you decide to have a go and make one, it really is a great project to do.

My card stock backing measured 13 cm x 8.5 cm
The base layer for each design measured 7.5 cm x 7 cm
The white design are measured 7 cm x 6.5 cm.

Also, this week I had to make a wedding RSVP. Simon and I have the good fortune to be invited to a friend's wedding next year. I have to say that I was pleased, as I love a good wedding and I haven't been to one for numerous years!! It's a great excuse to dress up for the day....and hopefully it will encourage me to lose some weight in the new year!!

For the RSVP card, I decided to use the brand new stamp set that I won in Germany in the Prize Patrol. It definitely has the connotations of love, so I thought that it would fit the bill perfectly!!
It's the gorgeous stamp set called ' Parisian Beauty'. I actually did a CASE( Copy and Share Everything) design from the catalogue, as it was perfect for what I needed. The corresponding dies called 'Parisian Dies' are just lovely too! I also used the coordinating set entitled 'Forever Blossoms'. The card has definite tones of love and romance, ideal for both Weddings and Anniversaries. You could create a whole Wedding theme around this gorgeous suite and the beautiful colours that are used in the Designer Series Papers from Stampin' Up!
If you love the look of these new products, and want to get your hands on them before they are available to the general public, you can add them to your starter kit. If you're interested, just contact me for more information or just click on the 'Join My Team' button on the right hand side of this blog.

Anyway, I'm going to say Au Revoir for now, as I have lots of exciting crafty things lined up today. Why not pop back another day to see what I get up to.

Happy Crafting
Love Sarah. xx
