#Elfie Heart

I'm counting down the days now. In two days time, I will be boarding a plane bound for Dortmund in Germany. There will be hundreds of  Stampin' Up! demonstrators meeting up for OnStage which is a live event over three days, where we swap, make, train, laugh and craft with all of our friends. We also receive the brand new seasonal catalogue that will herald in the new decade of 2020! How exciting is that!! Over the next few weeks, you will see what we got up to in Germany, and hopefully you will see how much fun it can be to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I just love my job!!

Anyway, back to the project today, and we're now definitely getting into the Christmas spirit. These cheeky elves are enough to put a smile on anyone's face! I think as adults we can sometimes get too wrapped up in the pressure of all the Christmas prep, instead of just enjoying the festivities and spending some wonderful time with our loved ones. Why not sit down with your children or grand children an create this heart shaped home decor piece? The wooden hearts can be bought very cheaply in the UK, I bought mine in from 'The Works' for 99 pence. Here it is....

Almost everything to make this project can be found in the Autumn/ Winter catalogue 2019 from Stampin' Up! with the exception of the baker's twine and the ribbon which are sadly retired. However, there is some beautiful red ribbon to purchase that would work perfectly in this project.
The die cut letters can be found in the main catalogue of 2019.  I have used the #Elfie stamp set, and have simply just stamped them in black memento ink and coloured them in with our Stampin' Blends. I then fussy cut them out by hand as there are no dies. I love to hand cut though, so it's never an issue! I initially drew around the heart onto some Designer Series Paper( DSP) and cut it out and glued it onto the heart. With the addition of a few snowflake die cuts, I added the elves on Stampin'  dimensionals after adding a white die shaped layer for the letters to be added to.  There is a red sarkly border underneath it to add a little glitz. It's such a quick and easy project to create, one that can be brought out year after year through the generations. I really hope that it inspires you to have a go at making it. I'm sure any child would love it as a gift too!

I'll say Auf Wiedersehen for now, because I'm getting so excited!!

Crafty Hugs,
Love Sarah. x
