Vintage Sunflowers and Lovers in the Rain.

Welcome to my blog. I'm back into the swing of things again after my week's holiday.  My FB Live last night was a busy one but hopefully every one enjoyed the cards that I made. I did get a few 'wows' when I did the bleaching technique which I will explain later. The first card that I did was a relatively simple one and still involved blending inks onto a background, as in my previous live. I have recently purchased the stamp set from Stampin' Up! called 'Silhouette Scenes' and I wanted to make some backgrounds to use with the images. I actually semi CASED this sunset back ground from a fellow demo but I did change the colours that she had used. I also used an interpretation of the shadow stamping technique to create the foliage on the card. I did this by stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black and then I stamped it again but with Versamark and Gold embossing powder. I really liked the effect. I finished off my card by adding some 'rain' using the Stampin' Up! chalk marker.

My next card has a vintage, collage look to it which I love. For the main focus of my card I used the beautiful sunflower from the 'Celebrate Sunflowers' stamp set from Stampin' Up! I know sunflowers are a global flower but to me they will always have a french feel to them. For this reason, I chose to combine the stamp with the 'Very Versailles' stamp set, also from Stampin' Up! I love both the script and the foliage stamp in this set, so I used both of them.

There are various techniques involved in this card so it's a good card to showcase to beginner crafters. There's water colouring, embossing, blending and bleaching all in one card. When bleaching I used just ordinary household bleach, it's a fun technique so why not give it a try?  The card that I made during my live is called the 'Sepia Water Colour' technique but the colours can be changed and it then just becomes more of a monochromatic technique. I did have a play using yellows and oranges instead of the brown shades and I loved that card too! The technique for making the card is exactly the same but changing the colours makes it look quite different.
