Not Quite Autumn

I can't believe that we're in September already. Did we have a summer? Thankfully, after a very short cold spell we're still getting the sunshine and fairly warm days, so that's good! For this reason, I'm not quite ready to start making Christmas cards yet so I'm going to enjoy the beautiful and colourful season of Autumn. With this in mind, I wanted to create some Autumnal cards but still keep a Summer vibe to them. I hope that I have pulled it off with these cards. I used the  Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set from |Stampin' Up! as the main focus of these cards, and I actually created a background A4 sheet first by using the 'One Sheet Wonder'( OSW) method. I was very much inspired by Ruth Trice of Artful Stamping. She's definitely worth searching for.

I made four similar cards using the background sheet and kept them very simple apart from one that I stepped up a little by adding the large sunflower as a focal point for the card. The other cards just had a ribbon, sentiment and embellishments added. The card layers for all of them were the same.

An A6 Card Base, Grey Granite
Next Layer, Cinnamon Cider 143mm x 100 mm.
Next Layer, Whisper White(OSW) 138mm x 95mm.

For the next card, we're rolling into Autumn more by using the 'Autumn Goodness' stamp set from Stampin' Up! I loved the wheelbarrow when I saw it in the catalogue. I imagined that I could fit many other stamped images into it, so it's a set that's useful for other seasons too! I have recently earned a free stamp set from one of my lovely team leaders, Mikaela Titheridge by using her coupon system for my sales rewards. I chose to order the brilliant 'Stacked Stone' background stamp which I had wanted for a while. I used it in the cards above too! I have used it for it's intended purpose on this card and I have clear embossed it to make it pop a little!

As you can see, I kept the decoration fairly simple by using a piece of  Designer Series Paper from the Tasteful Touches suite, it reminded me of a paved patio. I then simply stamped the wheelbarrow and flowers onto whisper white and coloured them in. I then used the matching dies to cut them out. The white picket fence was also cut out in Whisper White and adhered behind the barrow.

Can you see that the fence also has embossing? It's actually part of the die itself, and my other die cutting machine sadly didn't emboss the image when I used that, however with the new Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine it did! I was very happy about that and I'm in love with my new machine already. I love the fact that the sides fold up too which makes it so super portable. Not to mention that the machine itself is so stylish. You wouldn't know that it's a die machine when it's packed away. If you're in the market for a die cutting machine I would definitely consider purchasing this, it's amazing! For £112 and a three year warranty you won't be disappointed and I'm sure it will give you many years of great service.
