Zany Zebras

Welcome to my blog. I'm here to tell you about my FB Live last night. On Monday, I was not so patiently awaiting for the arrival of my new order. I was desperate to receive my gorgeous new In Colours and the stamp sets that I had ordered, plus some other amazing stuff too!

I knew that I wanted to demonstrate the In Colours for my live this week and I had already selected to use the 'Zany Zebras' stamp set from Stampin' Up! because it's such an adorable cute set. I decided to make a whole set of cards using each individual new in colour and their matching Designer Series Paper. I wanted to highlight the ink colours as well so I created a water colour squiggle in the background. I was aiming for a zany 'Z' shape to match the zebras. I adhered the layers to the card and finished it off with a zebra image stamped in black Memento Ink and coloured it's stripes in the matching Stampin' Blend( with the exception of Bumblebee). I stamped a sentiment in the same colour and used the Lovely Labels punch to cut it out.

Measurements: An A6 Card Base from Thick Whisper White.
143 mm x 100 mm In Colour Card Stock.
138 mm x  95 mm Shimmery White Card Stock.
95 mm x 55 mm Designer Series Paper In Colour.

A scrap of Whisper White for stamping the image and the sentiment.

The second card was CASED from a US Demo called Erica Cerwin( Buckaroo Designs). However, my card had the addition of our gorgeous new Rainbow Glimmer Paper. The paper is beautiful as well as being glittery. The best part is that none of the glitter will shed at all! I'm not sure if it has a special coating on it, but you can run your hand briskly over it and nothing comes off! This is an absolute bonus for all of those who like some glitz in their life but doesn't like the glitter shedding all over the place. I really hope that Stampin' Up! intend to release some more colours in the same vein.

Back to the card. It's kind of based on the scrappy strip method, and it's a fabulous card for using up those scraps that we all accumulate. Erica used rainbow colours to match the glimmer paper but I chose to still use the in colours. It still worked well I think. The card strips were just laid down onto a base strip of card at different angles to add some interest. The glimmer strips were added on top with some dimensionals. The zebra image was just stamped, coloured and fussy cut out again and applied with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped and adhered flat and tucked underneath at the end.
This was all just attached to an A6 base card.
