Music From the Heart

Welcome to my blog. As promised from my Facebook Live last night, here's my cards that I made and the measurements involved.

The first card uses a technique called 'Joseph's Coat' and it's an old technique but an effective one. As the trend at the moment is to create rainbows, my card feature the colours of the rainbow as best as I could match them to our Stampin' Up! colour range.

I applied the ink in bands of colour across the card blending them together as much as I could. I then clear embossed across the card panel several of the images from the stamp set called 'Music From the Heart' from Stampin' Up! After heat setting I then I applied Tuxedo Black Memento Ink with a sponge roller across the entire surface to build the colour up. This is a kind of resist technique because the black ink will not cover over the clear embossed images so they are left clear and the colours underneath show through. I just finished by buffing the card stock with a tissue to take any excess ink from the embossing. I then just stamped the piano image and cut it out and the keyboard too! I finished the card off with a white embossed sentiment from the set and mounted it onto some other layers.

Front Layer measures: 135mm x 92mm
White Layer next: 138mm x 95mm
Black Layer: 143mm x 100mm
Amount all the card stock layers on a Whisper White A6 card base in landscape mode.

My next card involved a fancy fold called an Easel Card. I haven't made one for a while and they really are very easy but they just look complicated.
It's been made to look like a piano and I have to admit that I did CASE the card from a US demo called Mary Deatherage so you might want to check her out.

You need another A6 card base cut and folded in the opposite direction to the last one. On one side score width ways at 50mm.
Also, a Whisper White card panel measuring: 148.5mm x 105mm.
Lovely Lipstick Card stock measuring: 148.5mm x 55mm.
Black card stock measuring: 148.5mm x 50mm. ( for the keyboard)
White Keys measure: 48mm x 13mm( 11 of them)
Black Keys measure 30mm x 10mm ( 8 of them).

The card stock for the sheet music measures 76mm x 50mm and scored at 25mm on the long side.
