Black Magic with Floral Essence

Welcome to my blog. Today, I'm posting about my FB Live from last night, it was my longest one to date! I chose to use the 'Floral Essence' stamp set from Stampin' Up! which luckily is carrying over into the new catalogue. It comes from the suite called 'Perennial Essence' and the Designer Series Paper and other embellishments are retiring so I wanted to highlight them.

My first card used the 'Black Magic' technique which works well with solid images. It's a heat embossing technique and in my live I demonstrate how to do it. Here is the card that I made, it was CASED from an original design by Phoebe Carr.

I used an A6 Whisper White card base.
Basic Black card stock measures 100mm x 70mm( 3 7/8" x 2 ¾")
The Poppy Parade layer is cut from one of the rectangle dies from Stampin' Up!

Once I had started to play around with this stamp set again I couldn't stop, so I decided to create some note cards and a card holder too!

I got the idea for the card holder from Liz Yuille and I loved how our SU note cards fit inside it. The whole little package is just so cute and would make a gorgeous gift for someone. I also wanted to make a larger one for our A6 cards to fit inside, so I ran some figures and came up with some measurements. The cards fit inside in a slightly different way to the other one but it still works, so I was really pleased!

For the Note card Version you need:
Designer Series Paper( DSP) measuring 12" x 8".
Score at 4" across the short side, so basically the DSP is in half.
On the long side, score at 3¼" in from both ends.

For the A6 version you need:
Designer Series Paper( DSP) measuring 12"x 12".
Score at 6" across the short side, so basically the DSP is in half.
On the long side, score at 3¾" in from both ends.

First two cards the Blackberry Bliss card stock layer measures 85 mm x 123 mm( 3 3/8" x 4 7/8").

Whisper White card stock measures 120 mm x 82 mm. (3¼" x 4 5/8").

Cards 3 and 4 have a DSP layer that measures 120 mm x 82 mm also.

As you can see, I even decorated the envelope flaps too, just to make them even more special. You can watch my FB Live here to see how I created everything, enjoy!

Until next time, thanks for dropping by.

                                        Happy Crafting
