Tree Angular Christmas

Well we're getting into the full swing of preparations for Christmas now.  Depending on how many cards you like to send out at Christmas, it's definitely time to start thinking about batch making or making simpler cards if you want to make plenty.

I like to make a few special cards and this usually involves making a fancy fold card. This week for my FB Live I chose to demonstrate a Teepee card, because although it looks very unique and difficult to make it really isn't! The stamp set 'Tree Angle' from Stampin' Up! is perfect for this shaped card because of the shape of the trees. I also used the Designer Series Papers called 'Plaid Tidings' which give a great background to the trees. These lovely papers have a 15% discount at the moment all the way through October so even more of a reason to stock up on them whilst they are even better value!

Teepee Card Measurements:
Card stock 1 @ 8" x 4" (1)
                   1@ 4" x 4" (2)
(1) Score long side at 4". Score a diagonal line from the central score line to the outer corner of the card stock on both sides.
(2) Score a diagonal line down from one corner to the other.

Layers (card) 2@ 3 ¾" x 3¾", cut diagonally in half.
Designer Series Paper 2@ 3½" x 3½", also cut diagonally in half.

Score and burnish all of your folds and attach all of your layers with glue. On the back over lapping panels you need to work out where to place your magnets between the Designer Series Paper and card stock so that the magnets are invisible. If you're unsure of how to do this, then please watch my FB Live. I decorated the front panel with three different tree images in Black, Seaside Spray and Melon Mambo. I then finished off with a sentiment embossed in white and then used a Stampin' Up! colour blend to colour over the top. I just fussy cut around this.

NB: You can purchase stitched dies to cut the tree image stamps out( these are shown in the main catalogue). However, I don't own these yet so I fussy cut around them and then used a Stampin' Write marker pen to draw in some detail to look like stitching.

For my second card (although I actually made this one first on my live), I made a fairly simple card although there are a few components to it. I used the oil patch stamp from the 'Geared Up Garage' stamp set from Stampin' Up! to create a background with our Stampin' Up Classic ink. I used the Bumblebee colour and then I embossed some areas with gold embossing powder. I then Gold embossed some tree images onto Gray Granite card stock and then stamped a tree on to Whisper White card stock with both Bumblebee and Gray Granite Classic Ink from Stampin' Up! I fussy cut around the trees again and added some 'stitched' detail. I attached a ribbon to the base card and then attached the trees with a mixture of glue and Stampin' dimensionals. I finished the card off with a sentiment and used the 'Lovely Labels' punch to cut it out.

For my actual FB Live I chose to change the colours to a more vibrant design. The colours that I used were Magenta Madness, Bermuda Bay and silver embossing. All products were yet again from the Stampin' Up! range.

Card Measurements:

A6 Card Base Whisper White
Magenta Madness layer 14.3cm x 10cm.
