Christmas Time is Here!

Hi there, where has October gone? Is it me, or do the days just fly by much quicker as you get older?
Anyway, I've just celebrated my birthday yesterday so now it's full steam ahead to think about the oncoming OnStage in Dortmund, Germany in November and also Christmas. I'll tell you more about OnStage over the coming weeks, but if you don't know anything about it, basically it's a time for hundreds of Stampin' Up! demonstrators to get together. We are given goodies, the new Spring/Summer catalogue , plus team training. We also get to craft all together too!! There's always a fabulous atmosphere. If this sounds like fun to you, maybe you might like to consider joining us some time in the future? You have to be a current demonstrator to sign up and attend. This will be my first time attending one in Europe, I have only ever attended the local ones either in Birmingham or Telford. It's going to be very exciting!!

Back to today. My card today is created from the upcoming limited edition suite called Christmas time. It will be available strictly whilst stocks last from November 1st onwards.  It might not appear to be overtly Christmas, but I like that about it. You can only have so many poinsettias year after year. I honestly think that it would be fantastic for Winter birthdays too, as I mentioned in an earlier blog post. We actually just made this one in class. Some people left the red spotted background out, which looked lovely with just a plain white background. I just wanted to show you that the stamp for the berries can be used to achieve a back ground too! I'm sure you could make some pretty backgrounds with some experimenting. Here is the card.....

I decided to colour the foliage in with a lighter more neutral shade so that the roses will really pop! The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink twice! This meant that one image could be cut using the correct die, and then the single large rose could be fussy cut( cut by hand), and raised on dimensionals to create a 3D effect. I continued to colour in the image using the corresponding stamps and the Stampin' Up! Classic Ink pads.  I coloured the foliage with Soft Sea Foam. I then used Soft Suede for the fir cones and Cherry Cobbler for the tiny berries. The background berries were stamped directly onto the card base in Real Red.
To finish off,  I coloured all of the roses in Real Red. The large image was then cut using the correct die from the bundle. I then had to cut the singular large rose by hand.

To finish the card, I used one of the dies to cut a sentiment shape. The border on the edge of the card is created with another die from a separate set, called Delicate Lace  from Stampin' Up! I used Real Red card stock to do this. I just trimmed 2 cm off the edge of my Whisper White Base card and adhered the fancy border to the base card. Everything else was just layered up with either glue or dimensionals.
If you're interested in buying this set when it becomes available on November 1st, just click on the image pictures below to take you directly to my online shop. Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.
