Sale a Bration Tour 2014

I attended my first ever Stampin Up Event last night. It was held in Huntingdon and it was the Sale-A-Bration Tour. A very exciting event on the SU calender, and well worth attending if you can. Anyway, as part of the evening, it is a tradition to participate in swaps with other demonstrators. This is a great way to meet people and gain new ideas. Here is what I made and took to the event.

Stamp Sets: Daydream Medallions and the matching Floral Frames die set. "For You" from Chalk Talk Set.
Card stock: So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush.
Ink Pads: Versamark, Daffodil Yellow, Old Olive, Strawberry Slush, Rose Red and Melon Mambo.
Extras: Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Silver embossing powder, White embossing powder. Silver Glimmer paper and Silver 1/8" ribbon.
Punches:1 3/4" punch,  1 3/8" punch and 7/8" scallop circle punch.
Extras: Treat Cups. Crystal Effects. Also lollipop sticks and silicone glue. ( not Stampin Up )

I haven't included the white embossed background image because it is a retired stamp set that I used in error. You could easily replace this with  the lovely image from the stamp set "Hello Darling", which is actually current .

Method: Basically the same method is used for each different colour way. I will use So Saffron as an example, but from there on you just repeat the same method but with the co-ordinating colour.
1.  On So Saffron card stock, first place the daydream medallions stamp in the versamark ink and then straight onto the Daffodil Yellow ink pad and stamp the image onto your card stock, straight away cover with the iridescent ice embossing powder and heat with your gun.
2. Cut out the image with the corresponding die shape.
3. Centralise the 1 3/4" punch as best you can in the middle of the image and punch out a circle.
4. Round the top rim of the treat cup, run a thin bead of crystal effects all the way round. Place the image over the top.
5. On another piece of So Saffron card stock, stamp the image from the "Hello Darling" set using versamark and sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat.
6. Die cut this out using the same die as before, this will create the backing.
7. Place treats inside.
8. Using silicone glue, adhere the lollipop stick to the back of  the treat cup, on the rim and continue with step 9 when this is set.( It may take a while )
9. Glue this to the back of your treat cup ( remove the sticky tape on it )with crystal effects by placing a small amount of it on each petal.
10. Nearly finished. For the " For You" tag, I used the corresponding card stock that matched the ink ie, Daffodil Yellow and heat embossed it with silver.
11. To finish it off, punch out a scalloped circle on the silver glimmer paper and tie it altogether with a 25 cm ( approx ) piece of silver ribbon.

Voila!

I think that these could be useful for baby showers ( different gift inside, maybe.), wedding favours, easter, birthdays, Christmas, or any occasion really with slight adaptations.

One final note though. Unfortunately, I prepared my gifts quite a while in advance of the event and noticed ( when it was too late ) that some of the contents developed a ' bloom' on them.  I  don't know if this was due to the white embossed image or just changes in temperature whilst in storage. I just wanted to you to be aware of this so you can plan accordingly when making your gifts. Thanks.
